Whatever this is, it’s no longer what it claimed to be either by title or description. The internal description of the plugin is:
“These implementations of dos2unix and unix2dos have been modelled after dos2unix/unix2dos under SunOS/Solaris. The first versions were made by John Birchfield in 1989, and in 1995 rewritten from scratch by Benjamin Lin. Mac to Unix conversion was added by Bernd Johannes Wuebben in 1998, Unix to Mac conversion by Erwin Waterlander in 2010. ”
The actual code now shows massive blocks of masked code that look to do some sort of a “Get” command upon the generating of a 404 error. If you have this installed you DEFINTIELY want to disable it ASAP.
This appeared on one of my sites overnight when a poached login (a client gave out their admin credentials) was used to log in from an IP address in Russia. I was alerted to the login, jumped on the site and noticed a new plugin with the description above. Downloaded the plugin and started to pick through the code and … wow. Bad juju. Stay away from this, and remove it if you have a current version on any site.
