A week or so ago my website was infested with a credit card skimmer. There seems to be now way of getting rid of it and I have been recommended to do a full site wipe. Unfortunately, I am not experienced enough to know exactly what to do and I come to you for a little more detail on the job.
I have an UpdraftPlus backup from a few months ago, but that’s about it. I only have incremental backups on the cpanel database and I suppose that means they’re infected too.
From my understanding, my best bet is straight up deleting the site folder in the cpanel file manager. What would be the next step after that? What exactly should I keep in mind before pressing the delete button and how would I go about getting my site back to it’s previous state. Or at least the state it was in at the date of the Updraft backups.
